Bags carry our personal memories, our phones with photos, notes and emails – like notebooks and post-it messages before. They also hide our protective talisman and amulets, our keys. Woven bags and baskets have been there for many centuries if not millennia. Like plastic or paper bags, they were cheap and lightweight.
In variations on the 1812 Brothers Grimm story, Little Red Riding Hood grabbed a basket to carry wine and cake to her ailing grandmother. A cavalry sword might have been a wiser accessory choice given the dangers lurking in the woods. Not a great idea, in retrospect. But what if the Three Little Pigs had bags instead of houses?
