This piece of embroidery is a “Nişan Çevresi”, a belt gifted to the groom by the bride to celebrate their engagement. It belonged to Halil Yaylalı, the father of Mr. Şaban Yayalali, from the time they lived in Kayılar, today’s Prolemaida (in Greek: Πτολεμαΐδα/Κοζάνη).
