Donation of the family of Hüseyin Yılmaz. They arrived to Turkey from Drama and Thessaloniki. It is presently exhibited in Kuşadası, in the Association of Turkish refugees from Thessaloniki and other locations in the broader Rumeli (Kuşadası Selanik Mübadilleri ve Rumeli Göçmenleri Derneğ).
Story of the object from Hüseyin Yılmaz: This is an apron my grandmother weaved herself – they called it “fita”. They wear the “fita” on top of their clothes daily and wrap it around their waist so that they don’t get dirty and at the same time, keep the waist warm. This “fita” is handwoven and made entirely of sheep wool.
